Scope and Content Fort at Drumquhassle, Perth and Kinross This Roman fort at Drumquhassle was discovered by aerial survey. The site has been partially excavated and was found to have had one period of occupation, after which it was deliberately destroyed. There are slight upstanding remains of the fort, but it can best be seen as a series of cropmarks in aerial view of the site. The fort had several annexes, and the whole complex covered an area of about 6 ha. The fort may have been used during the Agricolan campaigns. Datable evidence included pottery from the late 1st century AD. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
