Scope and Content Plan of setting of rigid airship shed, East Fortune, East Lothian The rigid airship shed at East Fortune was built in World War One as part of the strategic network of airship bases put up by the Royal Navy to defend the coastline. The rigid airship shed (A) was bracketed by two coastal sheds (B) which housed smaller non-rigid airships or blimps used for coastal patrol. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
