Scope and Content Part of drawing showing site plan of the Old Bridge and village of Bridge of Earn, Perthshire The Old Bridge at Bridge of Earn dates from the late 15th or early 16th century. It spans the Earn at its lowest crossing-point, a few miles upstream from the River Tay. It was partly dismantled in 1822 after a new bridge was built upstream. This plan shows the site of the Old Bridge in relation to the village of Bridge of Earn. It also shows the location of the new bridge which replaced it in 1822. Two arches on the southern bank were all that remained of the Old Bridge in 1970, as can be seen on the site plan. In 1976, these were eventually demolished too. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
