Scope and Content Chambered cairn known as the Cairn of Get, Caithness, Highland The Cairn of Get is a short-horned chambered cairn lying close to several other prehistoric monuments. The cairn was excavated in 1866. This is a view showing the outside of the cairn. The entrance to the chamber was in the S facade. This was curved to form a courtyard area. The cairn was excavated in 1866. The remains of at least seven people were recovered at this time. Also found were a number of flint arrowheads, some pottery and animal bones.
