Date 1969

Catalogue Number SC 358530

Category On-line Digital Images

Copy of ED 9528

Scope and Content 1897 keystone in booking-hall of Waverley Station, Edinburgh Waverley Station, originally Edinburgh General Station, was completed in 1846 to replace Haymarket as the Eastern terminus of the North British Railway. It was massively extended following the 1890 completion of the Forth Railway Bridge. This keystone displays the date 1897 which probably refers to the completion of the main structure of the booking-hall. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
