Scope and Content Friockheim railway viaduct over Lunan Water, Angus Friockheim railway viaduct was built around 1840 for the Arbroath and Forfar Railway line between Arbroath and Montrose. This route was superseded in the 1880s by North British Railway's direct coastal line. The viaduct was disused by 1914. This arch was replaced by a girder bridge, and the two arches nearest it were infilled. The parapet has Gothic battlements. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
