Scope and Content Drawing of boiler-feed pump of beam-engine in Garlogie Mill, Garlogie, Grampian This mid 19th-century beam-engine is virtually intact and is the only Scottish example of its type still in its original position. It is a house-built rotative beam-engine of medium size, with a double-acting cylinder, separate condenser and air-pump. The connecting rod is attached to the beam near its centre. It moves up and down and drives the small pump which pipes hot water back to the boiler. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
