Scope and Content Drawing of column connections of beam-engine in Garlogie Mill, Garlogie, Grampian This mid 19th-century beam-engine is virtually intact and is the only Scottish example of its type still in its original position. It is a house-built rotative beam-engine of medium size, with a double-acting cylinder, separate condenser and air-pump. This shows the way that the hollow cast iron columns are connected to the rest of the structure. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
