Scope and Content Drawing of crank end of beam of beam-engine in Garlogie Mill, Garlogie, Grampian This mid 19th-century beam-engine is virtually intact and is the only Scottish example of its type still in its original position. It is a house-built rotative beam-engine of medium size, with a double-acting cylinder, separate condenser and air-pump. The beam at the crank or fly-wheel end of the engine has a simple forked connection to the connecting rod. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
