Scope and Content Plan below beam-level of beam-engine in Garlogie Mill, Garlogie, Grampian This mid 19th-century beam-engine is virtually intact and is the only Scottish example of its type still in its original position. It is a house-built rotative beam-engine of medium size, with a double-acting cylinder, separate condenser and air pump. The air pump (J), driven by the engine itself, pumps spent steam from the cylinder (D) through the condenser (G) where it is mixed with cold water, and back through the feed (L) to the boiler.
