Scope and Content Fort and temporary camps at Malling, Perth and Kinross This Roman fort and two temporary camps are at Malling. They are built on a terrace about 7 m above the W end of the Lake of Menteith. The camps lie to the S and W of the fort. This is an aerial view of the site. The fort can be seen as a series of cropmarks in the lower part of the image, just above the lake. The camps are above and to the left of it. The fort was discovered in 1968. Some excavation has been done, including cutting a section across the ditches. Both were the typical V-shape. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
