Scope and Content Fort and temporary camp at Stracathro, Angus This Roman fort and temporary camp are at Stracathro. The fort is probably one of the series of auxiliary forts surrounding the fortress at Inchtuthil. The camp lies to the SW of the fort. This is an aerial view of the site. The fort can be seen as a series of cropmarks surrounding the church in the upper half of the image. The NW and SW sides are defended by two ditches and the SE by three. The NE corner has been eroded by the West Water. The site was discovered through aerial photography in 1957. Some excavations have been done on the site. Finds include an As, dated AD 86.
