Scope and Content 1904 photograph of Aberdeen Fish Market, Aberdeen Harbour Aberdeen Aberdeen Harbour was modernised by the Harbour Board in the 1960s to meet the needs of the fishing industry. However, during the oil boom, the harbour was almost completely transformed to cater for the oil industry. Before the harbour was modernised, fishermen used to land their catch and sell it at the quayside Fish Market. The fishing industry declined from the 1980s. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
