Scope and Content Fort and temporary camp at Dalginross, Perth and Kinross This Roman fort and temporary camp are at Dalginross. Both were recorded by General Roy in 1793, when they were visible at ground level. They are now only visible as cropmarks, and are bordered by a modern housing development. This is an aerial view of the site showing the temporary camp. The outline of the camp can be seen as a cropmark. Some of the entrances are also visible. These appear as gaps in the defensive ditch, and have an angled section of ditch in front of them. Both sites have been partially excavated. The fort does not seem to have been completed. The camp may have been more than a simple labour camp for the fort, however, as it had two phases of use. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
