Scope and Content Fort and temporary camp at Dalginross, Perth and Kinross This Roman fort and temporary camp are at Dalginross. Both were recorded by General Roy in 1793, when they were visible at ground level. They are now only visible as cropmarks, and are bordered by a modern housing development. This is an aerial view of the site showing the temporary camp. It shows up as a series of linear cropmarks in the centre of the image. It was protected by a rampart and ditch. The ditches of the fort can be seen to the left (N) of the camp. Both sites have been partially excavated. The camp may have been more than a simple labour camp for the fort, however, as it may have had two phases of use. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
