Scope and Content Detail of churn and accessories inside dairy at Guisachan Farm, Highland Guisachan Farm lies c.20km west of Drumnadrochit, just outside the village of Tomich. Originally the home farm of Guisachan House, the farm incorporated a steading, farmhouse, factor's house, cottages and an ornamental dairy. The dairy was erected c.1870 and was designed by Alexander and William Reid, who had carried out alterations and extensions to Guisachan House in c.1860. It was built in an Alpine style, with two canopied porticos supported by rows of rustic posts. Inside, the dairy is divided into a scullery and a milk-room. The milk-room is decorated with a terrazzo mosaic-tiled floor, with coloured tiles on the walls. It still contains a number of original fittings including this churn and its accessories.
