The complex consisted of three mills with engine houses, gatehouse and a part-time school to educate the workers' children. Designed by Woodhouse & Morley, the school was built in 1887. This ornate building is single-storeyed with a basement, and built of brick with stone dressings to the windows, doors and quoins (corners of the building). The main spinning mill was demolished in 1992, but the school building still survives. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
