Scope and Content Mid 19th century view of St Andrews Tolbooth, St Andrews, Fife St Andrews Tolbooth dated from at least as early as the 16th century. Originally it had a main block which was arcaded on three sides, and a prison wing. It was altered in the 18th and 19th centuries before being demolished in 1862. This is how the east face of the tolbooth looked around 1860. The top storey was added in 1817.
