Scope and Content Diagram of fire-proof construction of central tower of Atlantic and Pacific Mills at Paisley, Renfrewshire The Atlantic and Pacific Mills shared a central fire-proof tower and were part of the vast Anchor Thread Works of J & P Coats Limited. The central tower was built with brick arches on cast iron supports so as to be fire-proof. This meant that fire could not spread between the two ranges of the mill.
