Scope and Content Diagrams of wash-still and furnace from Longmorn Distillery, Moray Longmorn Distillery was built in 1894. Its original waterwheel is now disused, however, in 1980, a steam engine was still in occasional service. Longmorn distillery still uses traditional stills heated by coal-fired furnaces. Each still has a stirrer or 'rummager' to stir the wash to prevent it from burning. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
