Scope and Content Diagrams of barley- bogie at Lagavulin, Islay, Argyll Lagavulin is an example of the kind of distillery that gradually developed after early 19th-century changes in the law made commercial distilling easier. Barley is fed onto the conveyor belt or 'barley-band'. The barley-bogie moves back and forward on the band, spreading the barley evenly over the loft floor below.
