Scope and Content Cross-slab known as Sueno's Stone at Forres, Morayshire Sueno's Stone is a 7.6 ton slab of stone, probably from the coast at Covesea some 15 km away. One story is that the stone commemorate a major battle against Norse settlers from Orkney. Found buried in 1726, the stone is now covered by a glass case. This is a view of the first of four panels. It shows foot soldiers and horsemen. This represents a leader, his guard and his army arriving to do battle. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
