Scope and Content Cross-slab known as Fowlis Wester 1 at Fowlis Wester, Perth and Kinross The Fowlis Wester cross-slab is the tallest symbol stone there is. It is also unusual in that the arms project out from the side of the slab. The stone was moved into the Parish Kirk, though a replica stands nearby on the original site. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The square-armed cross is decorated with interlace and key-work with animals below. The horizontal arms project slightly from the stone. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
