Scope and Content Henge monument at Wormy Hillock, Aberdeenshire This henge is defined by a penannular ditch and an outer bank. It has a narrow entrance opening towards the SE. Several hollows are visible within the bottom of the ditch, but these may belong to the nineteenth century disturbance. This is a view of the henge from the knoll. The upstanding circular bank and level central area are marked by the heather which now covers them. The entrance can be seen opening on to the area of grass. This henge survives as an earthwork on flat ground on the floor of a steep-sided valley. It lies below the S end of an elongated knoll and is now surrounded by a forestry plantation. It was dug into last century but no finds are recorded. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
