Scope and Content Possible henge monument at Mellerstain Mill, Berwickshire, Scottish Borders The ditches of this possible henge were discovered as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs. The ditches are asymmetric and are broken by two opposing entrances. The entrances open towards the N and S. The N entrance is the broadest. This aerial view was taken from the N. The dark lines of the ditches are visible, and one pit can be seen inside the narrower entrance at the top. The ditch on the left, W, side almost forms a semi-circle, while its partner is more banana-shaped. This possible henge has been levelled by ploughing. It is situated in a field to the W of the Eden Water. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
