Scope and Content Cross-slab known as Glamis 1 at Glamis, Angus Glamis 1 is an early Class I symbol stone to which a cross was added on the reverse. It stands by a track on the N side of Hunter's Hill, though it may be moved in order to help preserve it. The stone is rather weathered. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. Its shows the W face which had three symbols carved on it. A serpent is clearly visible, but there was also a Beast and a mirror. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
