Scope and Content Cross-slab at Elgin, Morayshire This stone now stands in the ruins of Elgin Cathedral. It was originally found in the High Street, near St Giles Church. It was moved to its present location in the 19th century. The stone is granite. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. This is the S side of the stone which is carved with a cross. This is surrounded by figures and intertwined beasts. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
