Scope and Content Symbol stone at Mill of Newton, Aberdeenshire This symbol stone stands outside Tillypronie House at Mill of Newton. It originally stood on a mound called Tom a Char. The stone is on the N edge of the private drive. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The symbols are on the SE side. They are a divided rectangle and Z-rod, which is incised over a crescent and V-rod. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
