Scope and Content Symbol stone at Logie Elphinstone, Aberdeenshire This symbol stone was found with two others on the Moor of Carden. All three now stand in the grounds of the ruined Logie House. They originally said to have stood inside or next to a stone circle. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The symbol are a crescent and V-rod, a double-disc and Z-rod, both carved over an earlier double-disc, and an ogam inscription. The ogam inscription is read clockwise from the bottom. It reads QUDDALT. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
