Scope and Content Speyburn Distillery, Rothes, Moray Speyburn Distillery was designed by C C Doig and opened in 1897. It is a good example of a purpose-built distillery designed for maximum efficiency. This is a good overall view of the complex. The pagoda-like structures are the roof vents of the drying-kilns.
