Scope and Content Cask stencils, Bruichladdich Distillery, Islay, Argyll Bruichladdich Distillery was built in the 1880s. It is a good example of a distillery constructed in one phase to a carefully conceived plan. These stencils were used to mark casks with the distillery's name and the date. The smaller stencil (right) is used to provide the two right-hand digits of the year. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
