Scope and Content Cairn at Auchagallon, Arran The cairn is on Auchagallon farm and is sometimes referred to as a stone circle. It is more likely to be a local style of cairn and now appears as a low mound of stones surrounded by an incomplete kerb of boulders. This is an view of the cairn. The ring of boulders is arranged with the five largest lying to the W and the smallest stones to the E. The site has not been excavated although it was reported as disturbed, but clearer, during the 19th century. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
