Scope and Content Cairn at Ri Cruin, Argyll and Bute This cairn is at Ri Cruin. It has been excavated twice and three cists were found. None of these contained any grave goods. This is a view of the axe-marked slab. It was the W end slab of the S cist. The slab is marked with a total of seven axe-marks which have been pecked out of the stone. The cairn was excavated in 1870 by Dean Mapleton and in 1929 by JH Craw. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
