Scope and Content Plans of Whithorn Old Town Hall, Dumfries and Galloway Whithorn Old Town Hall was probably built around 1814 to replace an earlier building. Little documentary evidence survives to throw light on its architectural history. A new town-hall was built in 1885. Little of the original interior survives except for a chimney-piece and coombed ceiling in the first-floor meeting-room. The ground-floor cells are vaulted. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
