Scope and Content Elevation of Newmilns Town-house (east front), East Ayrshire Newmilns Town-house was built in the mid 18th century with some very minor alterations in the early 19th century. The weather vane on the bellcote bears the date 1739. The window-surrounds were altered in the late 18th century. The heavily-restored forestair was also built around this time, probably in a form similar to the one that it replaced. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
