Scope and Content Broch at Dun Mor, Vaul, Tiree, Argyll and Bute Dun Mor is a well-preserved broch built on a rocky knoll close to the shore. It is set inside an irregular outwork. The site was excavated between 1962 and 1964 and the finds are now in the Huntarian Museum, University of Glasgow. This is a view of the intramural gallery which originally ran most of the way around the broch. It would have been lintelled and there were three entrances to it. The main entrance to the NNW also led to the set of stairs. The two others were smaller. The excavations in the 1960s discovered more about the phases of construction. Originally from the mid first century BC, it appears that around AD 200 the walls were lowered as the broch became less of a defensive site. Later finds included a Norse comb Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
