Scope and Content Plans of Kilbarchan Steeple, Renfrewshire Kilbarchan Steeple originated when the principal heritor, James Milliken, suggested adding it to the proposed village school. In 1782 the school was replaced by a new main block with a larger school-room. Originally the Ladies' Room belonged to James Milliken. He gave it to the kirk-session for ladies to use between church services and during hunts. Other than this room, little of the interior now survives. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
