Scope and Content Strathmiglo Town-house, Fife Strathmiglo Town-house probably replaced an earlier 16th-century tolbooth. The steeple was added in 1734 and the main block was rebuilt in the 19th century. The steeple is the oldest surviving part of the town-house. Its square clock-faces were renewed in 1921 and its bell, cast in 1766 in London, bears the motto: TEMPUS FUGIT. The block to the left was rebuilt in the 19th century and contained the town-hall.
