Scope and Content Newburgh Town-house, Fife Newburgh Town-house replaced an earlier 16th century tolbooth after the town council petitioned the Secretary of State for War, Henry Dundas, for government assistance in building a new tolbooth. Work began in 1808. The forestair is almost all that remains of the alterations of 1887-8. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
