Scope and Content Court-room inside Cromarty Court-house, Highland Cromarty Court-house accommodated the county and burgh councils. It was built by George Ross, owner of the Cromarty estate. The cell block was added in the 1840s. The court-room interior dates to the 1840s. It has boxes for the accused, the jury and the witnesses, as well as three rows of public benches.
