Scope and Content Detail of plaster corbel inside Banff Town-house, Aberdeenshire Banff Town-house accommodated the town and county councils. The steeple replaced a dangerous one demolished in 1762. The main building replaced the old 16th-century tolbooth which was also demolished in 1794. The local MP donated 100 guineas to the cost. This plaster corbel is one of the few pieces of original decoration to survive in the main block. A minstrels' gallery also survives above the inserted ceiling in the second-floor ballroom.
