Scope and Content Chambered cairns at Cnoc Freiceadain, Caithness, Highland There are two impressive long stone cairns at Cnoc Freiceadain, both of which are now covered by grass. They are set at right-angles to each other on top of the hill. Neither cairn has been excavated. This is a view of the cairns. The S cairn has a mound at both ends, and the N cairn has a mound to the S. It is likely that three round cairns have been joined together to form the long cairns. Both cairns have forecourts formed by projecting horns. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
