Scope and Content Date-stone on Inverbervie Town-house, Aberdeenshire Inverbervie Town-house was probably rebuilt in the 19th century, though some parts of the building may date to 1720. In 1837 it had a meeting-hall and council-chamber above a vaulted cell and market area. At the top of the east wall is a 1589 date-stone. It was originally a lintel from another building, perhaps an earlier tolbooth. There used to be a 1720 date-stone over the door. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
