Scope and Content Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple (around 1890), Glasgow Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple dates from the 17th century and is all that remains of Glasgow's tolbooth which stood on the same site from the 15th century. This is what the tolbooth looked like after it was rebuilt in 1814. At the time of this photograph, the whole complex had become the Tontine Drapery Warehouse. A fire in 1911 led in turn to the demolition of the main block in 1915. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
