Scope and Content Kilbarchan Steeple, Renfrewshire Kilbarchan Steeple originated when the principal heritor, James Milliken, suggested adding it to the proposed village school. In 1782 the school was replaced by a new main block with a larger school-room. The right side of the main block contains the new two-storeyed school-room, built at the insistence of the Presbytery of Paisley in 1782. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
