Scope and Content Reused dormer-pediment on Old Aberdeen Town-house, City of Aberdeen Old Aberdeen Town-house was built on the site of an earlier tolbooth. Much of the funding came from individual councillors who hired the council convenor as architect and contractor, perhaps because they trusted him to keep the costs down. A dormer-pediment from the older building is built into the east wall. It bears the Scottish royal arms and two thistles. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
