Scope and Content Symbol stone from Hilton of Cadboll, Ross and Cromarty, Highland This stone originally stood at a ruined chapel at Hilton of Cadboll. It is now on display in the Royal Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. At the top is a double-disc and Z-rod, then a crescent and V-rod, two discs, and a hunting scene with a mirror-and-comb in it. The stone originally had a cross carved on the reverse surface. This was removed during the 17th century and the stone was carved with a burial inscription. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
