Scope and Content Broch, Hut Circles and Souterrain at Kilphedir, Sutherland, Highland The Kilphedir broch is built on a knoll with views up and down the valley. The outer defences are now overgrown by heather. Nearby are the remains of three-hut circles and a 9.5 m long stone-lined souterrain. More hut-circles are close by. This is a view of the inside of the broch. It is filled with tumbled rubble from what would have been the upper levels. One doorway can be seen in the back wall with the large lintel still in place over it. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
