Scope and Content Fochabers Town-house, Moray Fochabers Town-house was part of the 4th Duke of Gordon's planned town, the rest of which both the architect and the builder worked on. The almost identical building on the other side of the church belonged to the Duke's baron-bailie. The town-house had a school-room on the ground-floor to the right of the main door. The court-house was above the school-room and the prison was in an extension at the back. An extra storey was added to the prison extension in 1982. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
