Scope and Content Early 19th century view of Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple, Glasgow Glasgow Tolbooth Steeple dates from the 17th century and is all that remains of Glasgow's tolbooth which stood on the same site from the 15th century. Originally, the tolbooth's main block came to just below the clock stage. This is what the tolbooth looked like shortly before the main block was rebuilt in 1626-27.
